A South Korean business owner, Eun Hoi Koo, was murdered in his home garage in the Kemang Pratama housing complex in Rawalumbu, Bekasi, on Wednesday morning.
Police said the murder suspect was the husband of one of Eun's employees at his garment company. The husband allegedly became angry after learning his wife was pregnant, apparently by the victim.
Bekasi Police chief Sr. Comr. Mas Guntur Laupe said police had identified the suspect and were attempting to locate and arrest him.
"We are still looking for him. He is the husband of a female staff member who is pregnant by the victim," he told The Jakarta Post.
According to a police autopsy request letter to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital morgue, Eun, who suffered from serious stab wounds and cuts, was still alive after the attack.
He was taken to Saint Elisabeth Hospital in Bekasi, but died on the way.
Eun's body was later brought to the morgue for a postmortem.
Three of his relatives were seen at the morgue but they were not available for interview.
Another murder occurred in North Jakarta on Tuesday.
Eka Sari, 21, was found dead from stab wounds. Her body was found in her workplace, the Mari Enjoy bar in Kali Jodo.
The police report said Eka worked as a prostitute at the bar. Kali Jodo is known as one of the largest red-light districts in Jakarta.
Her naked body was found in a bathroom on the second floor in a sitting position with her head inside a pail. A knife was found still in her neck, the police report stated.
Penjaringan Police chief Comr. Asep Adisaputra said they were still investigating the case and had not named any suspect as of Wednesday.
Eun's was the fifth murder case, Eka's the fourth, to be reported in Jakarta this month.
A neighborhood guard was arrested earlier this month for allegedly robbing and killing a former Finance Ministry official, Hamonangan Hutabarat, 70, in his home in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
His wife, Marinta Boru Simatupang, 67, and the couple's maid, Santi, 22 were also killed.
On Aug. 5, Lalu Muh Sofyan, 26, was arrested for killing his sister's mother-in-law, Sofny Zachlul and taking her belongings. He had earlier claimed to be a witness to the murder. The suspect and the victim shared a house in East Jakarta for four years.
The third case was that of Asiyah, 25, whose body was found in a hotel in Taman Sari, West Jakarta. Police are still looking for two suspects seen entering the hotel with the victim a day before the murder.
