Yes, I agree that English is a signifcantly important part of our lives, in your case particularly where you still need to learn the basics of English grammar in order to construct proper sentences.

That aside, more and more people today are speaking English for one reason or another; studying/working abroad, marrying their foreign partner, for professional purposes... it's one of the world's fastest growing language still and is a major requirement for most professional/educational purposes that people know how to use proper English and have sufficient knowledge in English language.

I have more brewing in my head about five minutes ago but I can't remember them now, so I shall be back.

it's important for us since we are really depends on foreign technologies to built our country. until we have our homemade technologies, then it will be less important.

learning a language will always give you advantages in many ways, therefore, learning English, an international language, is important for you in order to survive the global relationship...so I guess it is important, especially if we look at the trend of global relationship and the upcoming AFTA...so, happy learning guys, and remember that you can always use this room to learn.

i don't agree with that "english is important"

if i was reborn in english, i wouldn't have to learn english anymore, because i live there,
therefore, i will learn any other language ,
every language has the same importance, depending on what our purpose are, for example i have to learn lampung language because i married and have to be able to communicate with my wife family, despite i'm a javanese.
however, based on the real fact right now, english is a language which is used wide spread in all over the world, probably we need to learn it.

For one, Indonesia's domestic market is quite small compared to the rest of the world, so it will be beneficial for us to expand overseas for making the much needed next economic push for the country. Furthermore, no country can ever be self sufficient, meaning that the country would need to import products and/or services from abroad. In order to satisfy the needs above, we will need to be able to communicate with foreign corporations and governments to make deals, understand policies, etc.. And the above are some reasons why English is very important for the growth of any country.
