Just confident to speak loudly around you..its very2 usefull thing i'm ever had

well....i think first of all u should know the vocab.....then speak....speak and speak.....u must have confidence to speak with people around u...it doesn't matter if ur grammar is wrong.....u'll improve ur english in no time if u keep speaking with english everyday....

There is no instant way to improve your English dramatically. Learning any language (not just English) takes time and dilligence. Just take it slow and easy, make progressive improvements everyday. Collect new vocabularies, learn correct grammars, and get the right 'feel' on your tongue and ears.

several tips from me for you ;

-watching foreign movie (with english language, offcourse) as much as possible.choose the subtitlle to english version.try to listen and read at the same time.
-speak to your self at the mirror,as often as you can.give your tongue a pronounciation practice.
-dont ever feel shame or failed if you are making mistake (furthermore,its not your own language,so,its normal to make a mistake sometime)

and remember my friend,there are no fools,at hand,there are a lazy and a dilligent.

The fastest way will be to live in a neighborhood that use English as their main language. That way you will be forced to speak,listen,read,write even dream in English. Nothing beat experience

the fastest way to learn english is go to place where every one speaks only english, d'uh

but the simple and easy way to learn english is by take an english lesson course

u can learn through the foreign movie...use the english subtitle for help..u will used to it in time..it did for me dude..

Well he ask for the fastest way, so I assumed that cost and resource won't matter.
Beside watching movie, you can also try playing RPG game. Unlike movie where you have temptation to change the subtitle, you can't change subtitle. And since you need to understand the story for most RPG games you will be forced to learn English (it work for me. At least it increased my vocabulary a lot)

Which english skill do you ask? If you want to pass toefl score, try to have as many possible toefl test from internet. and answer them. And check the answer with the key. That will make your brain to have a form for what the answer. And if you want to have a good conversation skill, than try to speak as many people that you know have ability to speak english. Don't care so much if what you say wrong or right. And if someone found your fault and laugh than laugh with him or her. I am not good in english especially in grammar so if you found many mistake please smile for me.

I think all of the BFers answers are correct. The problem is now, which method suit you the best. For me, i like to watch english movies with english sub. Or you listen to english songs. And the main thing is you have to be confident with your english. And SPEAK, SPEAK, SPEAK........

What do you mean with program? Is it a course you're looking for or a private teacher?
Where is your location? Are you in Jakarta?

If you are in Jakarta, you can try an English course in Pondok Indah Mall 1 or in Ratu Plaza.
I took my English course there.
It's worth every penny, and really prepare you to Speak! ;)

Agree Too... In addition.. if u have a chance, go abroad, and become stranger there without any indonesian, and survive with using ur english everytime, everyday.. in some short of time, it will affect your english become fluently..

or, do a conservative way with english course-> chose the best one who have native teachers for example..

3. Read English Paper atleast 1 everyday

when you watch DVD, use English subtitle, repeat the words, if you don't understand what does it mean --> open your dictionary.....

practice speak english with your friend(good in english only)....Do Not be Shy..

the most important is try to speak english, it help your tongue n improve your word dictionary...

get a course is spending a lot of money

yeah sumhow u need time to properly learn english but if u still wanna learn but dont have the time, then learn frm your surrondings friends,tv,newspaper etc

my daughter, a 7 years cute little girl ( ) , learns english fast through this way. She loves to watch DVD movies, and i asked her to watch the same movie twice. 1st in Indonesian subtitle, and she memorizes the meanings, 2nd in english subtitle, so then she implements the meanings and compares it in english, and tries to pronounce the words. and she always asks me to speak english with her whenever she wants it, so i think you'd better find some online english conversation club to improve your skill.

oh, another way to learn english by fun is to join any international MMORPG, you might join the chat with other players from every country in this world while playing the game

try correlating what you hear and how its written.

well I'd say learn through DVDs, music lyrics, and perhaps some grammar books just to let you know that you're in the right track. the best way to learn the conversation is by using it..go to where the foreigners stay or hang out (i.e: jalan jaksa in jakarta)...learning doesn't always mean taking a course..the best and fastest way is using it daily

If speed is you're main priority, then STOP communicating to yourself as well as to others in your native language. And use English instead. Do so for at least 28 consecutive days.

I'd just say; read a lot of english literatures. Start with easy reading material like novel, comics, newspapers, magazines. It allows one to catch new phrases,'word on the street', useful tips, culture and lifestyles, what's hot on the plate, etc etc etc. Try not just to comprehend the content, but use the new words/phrases on DAILY basis, pretty much on every conversation one can make. THen, start actively write on something; blogs, journals, notes, etc. It will translate your best knowledge of vocab to a better structured skill. Read-Write. Dont sweat on speaking and or listening, they would just normally follow the sequence. Remember, English is not about the catch/vocab, but more like a communication tool. Learn how to use not what to know, instead.
