Anda sering download tapi sering putus koneksi internetnya sehingga harus berulangkali mengulang proses downlaod? BETE yach?

Untuk menangani koneksi yang gak mulus dan menghindarkan bete bisa diakalin dengan menggunakan download manager sehingga kita tetap bisa melanjutkan download walau koneksi terputus. Banyak software untuk membantu manajemen download tetapi sebagian di antaranya adalah tidak gratis.saya mencoba menceritakan pengalaman saya menggunakan FreeDownloadManager.

saya telah menggunakan FreeDownloadManager selama beberapa bulan, yang telah digunakan untuk mendownload puluhan file dengan ukuran dari kilobyte sampai bergiga-giga, jadi kehandalan FreeDownloadManager sudah terbukti dalam menangani download file yang berukuran besar.

Dengan menggunakan download manager ini, saya dapat mengatur berapa kali program akan mengulang untuk mencoba download file apabila ada bermasalah, lalu mengatur selang waktunya, mengatur jumlah koneksi download sekaligus yang bisa dilakukan, dll,.

Selain handal untuk mendownload file dalam jumlah besar, software ini juga memiliki fasilitas pengaturan dan kemampuan yang lengkap walau pun software ini bisa didapat dengan gratis.

Ada beberapa kelebihan:

1. Tampilan yang cukup bagus dan sederhana

2. Informasi proses download (log) langkah demi langkah yang ditampilkan dengan jelas

3. Fasilitas yang lengkap, selain download file juga bisa mendownload sebuah website beserta semua isinya ( fasilitas HTML Spider)

4. Ada fasilitas Site Explorer yang bisa menampilkan link-link yang bisa didownload dari suatu alamat website

5. Ada fasilitas scheduler - penjadwalan kapan download dilakukan secara otomatis (Tab Scheduler)

6. Ada fasilitas komunitas - yaitu Opinions yang bisa melihat komentar orang yang pernah mendownload file yang sama

Kekurangan:

1. saya pernah mendapati saat file gagal didownload kemudian dihapus dari daftar file yang didownload, file sementara/temporary yang dibuat tidak ikut dihapus sehingga menghabiskan space harddisk. Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan cara mengatur setting View Hidden Files dari Windows sehingga file temporary tersebut bisa terlihat di folder tempat download file disimpan kemudian dihapus.

2. Saat mendowload file attachment dari google atau windows gagal, bukan file attachment yang didownload tapi malah file htmlnya saja

Selain kedua hal ini saya cukup puas dengan fasilitas dan kemampuan yang ada dari FreedownloadManager.

As of 19 January 2008 16:00 GMT, Rapidshare's servers appear to not be responding, this is from two causes:

1. The DNS servers are not responding so web browsers don't know what address to try to connect to.
2. The servers 195.122.131.2 - 195.122.131.15 and 195.122.131.250 are not responding on port 80; however 80.239.151.250 is responding on port 80.
* This could be caused by a down link on the path to that address space.

There are rumors that Rapidshare has been shut down by the authorities after a court order, however, court records do not reveal any issued Rapidshare court order as of yet. The downtime is said to be caused by a server overload (a result of too many downloads, and thus, increasing bandwidth). Rapidshare have yet to comment on this issue.

As of 19 January 2008 16:00 GMT, Rapidshare AG’s servers were shutdown by anti-piracy authorities in Germany. More than hundreds of Rapidshare servers were seized from their offices in Berlin although no arrests were made. Sources said, authorities are contemplating pursuing legal action against users who distribute and download pirated copies of software and movies from these servers.
