WARNING

This version of GTA2 is modified from its original version to enable support for modern PC's
and current micr*soft Windows® platforms.

GENERAL
-------
- Task-Switching (such as using ALT-TAB) may produce undesirable effects and cause game
instability. It is recommended to not switch out of the game while playing.


General Video Problems -

Screenmode
----------
- to run GTA2 in a window, you must be running Windows with a 16-bit desktop
(i.e. 65536 colours). On some video cards, you may find that you have to
change the desktop to 16-bit even to run the game full-screen. You can do
this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties" then
selecting the "Settings" tab and choosing a 16-bit "High Colour" colour
palette.

DirectX
-------
- you may find that the game says you have an inadequate version of DirectX
even though you have installed DirectX 8.1 (which is the minimum version
required). If this happens, simply re-install DirectX 8.1.

Video Drivers
-------------
- if you experience video problems, it may be necessary to upgrade the video
drivers on your system. Current drivers for various popular video cards are
included on the GTA2 CD. See drivers\readme.txt on the CD for more
information.


Known Video Card Problems -

ATI Rage Pro
------------
- For alpha display (i.e. see-through exploding scores & explosions) to work
correctly on this card, you must make sure that "Special Recognition" is
selected on the video tab in GTA2 Manager. However, on low-spec systems you
may find that this causes the game to run too slowly. In that case, you
should uncheck "Special Recognition" and run the game without alphas. This
will mean that the exploding scores are not see-through, so you may wish to
turn them off by unchecking "Exploding Scores".

Permedia 2
----------
- Make sure that "Special Recognition" is selected on the video tab in GTA2
Manager.

NVidia Riva 128
---------------

With this chipset, on-screen sprites can be displayed incorrectly in GTA2.
To solve this :
- Make sure that "Special Recognition" is selected on the video tab in GTA2
Manager.
- Go to the Riva 128 tab on your display properties (get this by
right-clicking on your Windows desktop).
- Select "More Direct3D".
- Change "Non-Filtered Texel Origin" to be "Center(x=texel/2,y=texel/2)"
not "Upper left corner(x=0,y=0)".

Problemas generales de vídeo -

Modo Pantalla
-----------
- Para abrir GTA2 en una ventana, debes tener configurado el escritorio de
Windows en 16 bits (por ejemplo, 65536 colores). En algunas tarjetas de vídeo,
puedes encontrarte con que tienes que cambiar el escritorio a 16 bits incluso
para que el juego aparezca a pantalla completa. Puedes hacer esto pulsando con
el botón derecho del ratón en el escritorio y seleccionando "Propiedades", a
continuación seleccionas "Configuración" y eliges "Color de alta densidad (16
bits)".

DirectX
-------
- Puedes encontrarte con que el juego te diga que tienes una versión inadecuada
de DirectX, aunque hayas instalado DirectX 8.1 (que es la versión mínima que
se necesita).

Controladores de vídeo
-------------
- Si tienes problemas de vídeo, quizás sea necesario que mejores la calidad del
controlador de vídeo de tu sistema. En el CD de GTA2 se incluyen controladores
actuales para algunas de las tarjetas de vídeo más populares. Consulta
drivers\readme.txt en el CD para más información.


Problemas conocidos con la tarjeta de vídeo -

ATI Rage Pro
------------
- Para que los dispositivos alfa (por ejemplo, explosión de resultados y
explosiones) funcionen correctamente en esta tarjeta, debe asegurarte de que
has seleccionado "Special Recognition" (reconocimiento especial) en la
lengüeta vídeo del asistente del GTA2. Sin embargo, en sistemas poco
especializados te puedes encontrar con que el juego va demasiado lento. En
este caso, debes anular "Special Recognition" (pulsa encima para desactivarlo)
y abrir el programa sin alfas. Esto hará que no puedas ver las explosiones de
resultados que salen, así que es posible que prefieras apagarlos, desactivando
"Exploding Scores" (Explosión de resultados).

[nota: las explosiones de gráficos "explode" (explosión) en la pantalla son transparentes, por lo que puedes ver la pantalla principal detrás]

Permedia 2
----------
- Asegúrate de que has seleccionado "Special Recognition" en la lengüeta vídeo
del asistente de GTA2.
[lengüeta = es un pequeño botón de opción que puedes seleccionar]

NVidia Riva 128
---------------

Con este chipset, los gráficos en pantalla pueden no aparecer correctamente en GTA2.
Para solucionar esto:
- asegúrate de que has seleccionado "Special Recognition" en la lengüeta vídeo del asistente de GTA2.
- Ve a la lengüeta Riva 128 en el dispositivo Propiedades (hazlo pulsando con el
botón derecho del ratón en el escritorio de Windows.
- Selecciona "More Direct3D".
- Cambia "Non-filtered Texel Origin" (Origen Texel sin filtrar) por
"Center(x=texel1/2,y=texel1/2)" (Centro(x=texel1/2,y=texel1/2)) y no por
"Upper left corner(x=0,y=0)" (esquina superior izquierda (x=0,y=0)).
